Self-discipline ... When You're Not in the Mood, Do It Anyway!

There will be some nights when you're tired, crabassing, just not in the mood to cook and fast food or going out to a sit down dinner is so much easier.  However, whether it is you who is cooking healthier for yourself or the person who is supportive of your family member's new lifestyle and cooking for him/her, and either you're sick, sick and tired of being sick and tired, worn out, whatever, you just gotta pick a recipe out of a book and do the damned thing anyway.  That was me the other night.  I'm in a trough, low energy, but dammit I gotta take care of my guy.

So, we picked a recipe, went to Kroger, braved the crowds (I have crowd anxiety, and this one blonde ... if she drives the way she walks, her insurance agent keeps single malt whiskey in his desk drawer), came home and cooked.

No, we're not perfect.  Yes, there have been nights we've sat and ate bowls of cereal or gone out to Jason's Deli, Denny's (you can build a slam with four items and pick the healthiest choices), Subway, CoreLife Eatery, or somewhere ... it happens.  We try our hardest not to give in to what's easiest, though.

It's worth the effort.  Every single bit of it.
