(Not so) Guilty Pleasures
Looking around the grocery store, spending time reading nutrition labels until our eyeballs go square, we found the following that are surprisingly safe to eat:
Manwich -- use 90/10% ground beef ... the sauce is low carb/fat. Only thing you gotta worry about are the buns. Use the sandwich slims or another option to lower your carbs.
Tacos - Mission makes low carb soft tortilla shells. Use lowfat sour cream, lowfat cheese, and the rest is meat (or chicken) and veggies. Score!
BBQ Pork Rinds -- I kid you not. If you're into that sort of thing, read the bag. I wouldn't lie to you.
Skinny Pop Popcorn -- Yep, ok to snack on. Compare the carbs and fats to the other name brands like Redenbacher, and you'll be an SP devotee.
Edamame -- Soy is very low in carbs. Snack on these, eat them as a side dish, certain grocers also carry Edamame pasta. High protein, low carbs/fat ... yippee!
Queso -- Use Velveeta cheese (look at the box, it's carb/fat heaven!), 90/10% beef (use spicy breakfast sausage instead of chorizo), salsa (I need to buy Ro-Tel by the crate for all I use), it's safe. Just make sure your tortilla chips are low-carb/fat.
Sunny D -- would you believe it has less carbs and sugars than regular OJ? We didn't know either
